Volunteer Requirements

1. Complete the Application

Complete and submit the Online Volunteer ​Application (Note that you must be 18 years old by the first day of camp. There are no exceptions!)  

*Please Note: All new 18/19 year old volunteers applying for one of our New York camps, will be assigned to Lakota, so please select that as your site choice. If you have a conflict with Lakota, please email us directly.

*There is limited space for volunteers at our Ireland location. If you sign up after we have hit our cap, you will be informed that you are on a wait-list. Please be conscious of this if you are not completely committed to coming.

 

For all volunteers residing in the USA:

2.  Authorization for Background Check Form

All new volunteers are required to complete the Authorization & Disclosure for Background Check form. You will need to view and print the form to sign and date it as electronic signatures are not acceptable (if you do not have a Social Security number, include a photocopy of some form of picture ID). Once completed, you can upload it into your forms section of your Camp Veritas (Camp-In-Touch) account, or, if you prefer, you may either:

a) Email it as an attachment to: veritasvolunteer@gmail.com,

or

b) Mail the signed forms to:

3. Safe Environment Training
All new volunteers are required to have Safe Environment Training. If you have a Virtus or Protecting God’s Children certificate, This is sufficient and you may either Upload in your forms section of your CV account or send it as stated in #2.

If not, please watch the Safer Spaces video. (see below) once completed either Upload the certificate into your forms section or send it in as in #2. YOU MUST COMPLETE BEFORE ARRIVING TO CAMP.

Follow the instructions on this "Safer Spaces" online link. To complete this online, you will need to answer the following 3 questions to register: (*while we use the program from the Archdiocese, they are in no way responsible for those who complete the training in fulfillment of Camp Veritas' requirements)

a. Institution/school is Camp Veritas

b. Employee Type is Volunteer

c. Position is Other-Agency

Once completed, please email  a copy of your certificate to: veritasvolunteer@gmail.com

4.  Application Approval

Once your application is approved, you will receive an email from our Volunteer Coordinator, Catherine Schembri, welcoming you to the Camp Veritas Staff! (You must have completed the above steps before you can be approved, this includes completely filling out the application).

For the Clongowes Wood College, Ireland Camp:

If you reside in the USA, please follow the instructions above "For volunteers residing in the USA"

*For those residing outside of the USA, you will be sent instructions after you submit the online application.
